500th RV Interview: Patricia Zamora

Actress Patricia Zamora

Hello Patricia, tell me about yourself.

I’ve been happily married to my husband, Rick, for 22 years. He’s my biggest supporter and cheerleader in all my creative projects (and I always seem to have a new one in the works!). We have two incredible children: Xander, who will be 20, and Chloe, who will be 18—both born in late November. Our family also includes two chihuahuas and one cat, keeping our home lively and full of love.

I’m a big fan of sunrises, leisurely mornings, and embracing any free time I can find. I absolutely love watching baking and cooking shows—though, ironically, I don’t cook or bake much myself!

Where are you from, and where do you live now?

I grew up in a very small town in South Texas called Premont, where my high school graduating class had just 55 students. After high school, I attended college in Austin, TX, and have since lived in California, Houston, and the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

For the past 17 years, I’ve called San Antonio, TX, home, and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy watching TV, going to the movies with my family, and supporting friends by attending plays and musicals in and around San Antonio. Music is a constant companion, and I also love spending time writing—it’s my creative outlet and a way to stay grounded.

Can you tell us a little about your journey?

Of course! I’ve always been passionate about the arts and studied theater early on. Over the years, I’ve explored various creative paths, whether it was acting, directing, or teaching theater. I also worked in marketing and fundraising for arts organizations, combining my love for creativity with practical skills.

When I became pregnant with my first child in 2004, I decided to step away from theater. I didn’t think I could balance parenting and the demands of a theatrical career. However, after earning a master’s degree and welcoming another child, I rediscovered my creative spark in 2014 when my oldest was 10. I started writing and studying acting again—and I haven’t looked back since.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Kind, Creative, Supportive

What inspires you?

I find inspiration in music and the beauty of nature. Sometimes, it’s as simple as a sound, a scent, or a subtle shift in energy that sparks creativity. I truly believe inspiration is all around us, just waiting to be noticed.

Share something the audience might not know about you.

I have a twin sister!

How did you get into doing this work?

I started by listening to my inner voice. Sometimes, it whispers, but other times, it screams—and I’ve learned to trust it no matter what.
