Christmas with Bunky is the Most Bunkyful Time of the Year! - Aleksandra Tryniecka

Author Aleksandra Tryniecka

Since the publication of my debut novel, Bunky and the Walms: The Christmas Story in October 2021, and the appearance of Bunky in my life – also as a literary character in a physical form (I sew him and his friends), Christmas has been a very significant time of the year. Not only is Bunky and the Walms a Christmas novel, but also Bunky became a literary figure inviting strong associations with this time of the year. With Bunky, Christmas season transformed into the “most bunkyful time of the year”, when the magic of good hearts intertwines with goodness, love, peace, nobility, hope, empathy, peace and imagination.

Deep in my heart, Bunky grew to symbolize all of these notions. Moreover, I associate my literary protagonist with the idea of domestic peace and safety. In the novel Bunky and the Walms: The Christmas Story there are numerous passages presenting this domestic bliss in Bunky’s cottage – the Walms’ house: the story opens up with Bunky decorating his Christmas tree. The tallest spruce in the neighbourhood grows in the front yard of the Walms’ house and Bunky’s uncle, Mr Walm, climbs the ladder in order to decorate it with a star. Meanwhile, the house is busy with Christmas preparations and joyful festivities, and family and guests are arriving to sing carols together on Christmas night. Before all that, Bunky is shoveling the pavements around the house, awaiting the arrival of his beloved cousin Rodney and Santa Claus, while the air is filled with the voices of children playing in the snow. When Bunky finds a homeless Wolf Plum and offers him a loving forever home, the meaning of Christmas as “togetherness” becomes even more special. After all, in my novels, Christmas is the feeling treasured deeply within one’s heart – a state of mind and soul – a childlike simplicity, joy, wonder, excitement and unbending imagination.

Bunky and his friends, by Author Aleksandra Tryniecka

Bunky and his Friends – the literary characters whom I sew – are celebrating Christmas in my world as well. Each year, Bunky lights up the Christmas tree – the special spruce growing in the garden. In fact, the spruce has a unique history as well – I planted it some years ago to celebrate the defence of my PhD thesis. Back then, I didn’t know that I would become the author of the series dedicated to our beloved Bunky!

On Christmas Eve, Bunky, the Bunky Princess, Rodney, Maurice, and Plum gather for a bunkyful celebration in a bunkificently decorated room. The Readers can participate in the festivities of my literary characters on Bunky’s YouTube channel @aleksandratryniecka8940. This year Bunky will light up the Christmas tree for the third time – as my debut novel has just turned three years old in October. Bunky, the Bunky Princess, Rodney, Maurice and Plum invite all our Readers and Friends to join us on YouTube and in our social media during this year’s Christmas! Also, I would like to thank you so much for being with us! To celebrate the Most Bunkyful Time of the Year, Bunky and I prepared a special 40% discount for each novel from the Bunky series! The discount code: BUNKY is applicable for all the purchases of my novels from: www.wipfandstock.com until the end of December 2024.

Merry Christmas!

With love and bunkificence,

Christmas special discount on author Aleksandra Tryniecka's books

Bunky and the Walms: The Christmas Story is a novel about the power of friendship, courage, loyalty, and nobility! What will happen if one slightly grumpy and complaining Bunky suddenly has to become a brave Christmas Hero, repair Santa Claus' sleigh, and deliver gifts all over the world? And what will happen if the literary world about which Bunky is dreaming while writing his novel enters his reality? Decidedly, this year's Christmas will be Bunky's greatest adventure, yet on this adventure he will not be alone: there will be his best friends, cousin Rodney and a little Wolf Plum, as well as the entire family of Walms, the Elves, the Reindeer, and even Santa Claus himself! From the magical Walmland, through the charming Faroe Islands, and to the very heart of the fantasy world of Bunkyland, Bunky's quest to save Christmas will take him on a memorable journey through different places, but also a journey into his own heart!
